A deliciously light oil for use on salads, vegetables, poultry, fish and as a marinade and butter substitute. This product is similar to olive oil except that it has a milder flavor that makes it better for cooking pies, cakes, etc. In our cooking, we have found that it requires less oil than many recipes call for. Pecan oil is a healthier alternative than most oils and butters. It has only 9.5% saturated fat compared to olive oil with 13.5%, peanut oil with 17%, corn oil with 13.7% and butter with a whopping 66% saturated fat. Pecan oil is extracted without the use of chemical solvents required in the extraction of many oils. No additives, preservatives or stablilizers are added at any point in the refining process. Pecan oil should be refrigerated when opened. |
